Moore, Oklahoma, Tornado Three Years After It Killed 24 People

An intense and destructive EF-5 tornado packing winds of more than 200 mph struck Moore, OK on May 20, 2013 making today a very tough 3 year Anniversary for the state of Oklahoma.

This harrowing day in Oklahoma’s history unfortunately claimed the lives of 24 people.

The tornado began in Newcastle, OK, and stayed on the ground for approximately 17 miles before tracking over a more heavily populated section of Moore, OK. The width spanned more than a mile wide and stayed on the ground for nearly an hour.

EMT and Professional Storm Chaser, Ben McMillan was there that day and recounts the events that unfolded both during and after such a catastrophic tornado ripped through the community of Moore.
