Watch: Mexico’s Popocatépetl Volcano Erupting & Shooting Ash

Ash exploding over 8,200ft. (2,500m) into the sky above Mexico’s Popocatépetl Volcano.

This is one of 14 active volcanoes in the country however Mexico is said to have more than 3,000 volcanoes within its borders. The eruptions started on Tuesday around 4pm and lasted into Wednesday. Popocatépetl is located 50 miles southeast of the nations capital, Mexico City.

The volcano went through a quiet inactive period for about 50 years until 1994 and since has had irregular activity.
