EF-2 Blamed for One Death, Four Injures in Arkansas

Severe storms have been rolling through parts of the South this morning and they’re being blamed for at least one death in southwestern Arkansas.

According to our affiliate in Little Rock, KTVH, the coroner in Little River County has confirmed one fatality — a man in his 30s. He was was killed near the town of Ashdown, on state highway 32.

Four others were injured, several homes were damaged and at least one home was destroyed as the storms rolled through at 5:30 a.m. local time, on Monday, said Rick Fahr with the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management.

In a phone call with WeatherNation, the National Weather Service in Shreveport, La. confirmed that it’s damage assessment team confirmed a tornado touched down in the small town. The assessment team has issued a preliminary rating of EF-2 on that tornado.
