WINTER STORM WARNINGS and ADVISORIES have been posted by the National Weather Service stretching from Texas to New Jersey through Thursday evening.
A strong cold front is ushering in unseasonably cold air, combined that with abundant moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and wintry weather will result. Snow, sleet, freezing rain as well as isolated thunderstorms will be affecting millions Wednesday into Thursday evening.
Most locations will start off as rainfall, transitioning to sleet and freezing rain, then switching to all snowfall as the storm system winds down.
With temperatures staying below average, expect the snow to stick around for a day or so.
