Heat alerts are in place for parts of the Southeast today.
Eastern and coastal areas of Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina will experience temperatures in the middle 90s, dewpoints in the low 70s, producing heat indices in the low 100s from the late morning through the evening.
This heat and humidity may cause heat stress and illnesses, especially during outdoor activities for extended periods of time.
Its encouraged to limit time spent in the heat and to take frequent breaks as needed.
