Extremely Dangerous Wild and Windy Weather

The wind was a big problem this past weekend across much of Montana and North Dakota as a powerful cold front sweeps through the area. This brought wind gusts past hurricane strength, knocking over semi-trucks.

The National Weather Service has issued high wind warnings and wind advisories for much of the Upper Midwest for Monday. You can expect sustained winds of 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. The strongest of which will occur during the mid to late afternoon.

Some of the major impacts will be blowing dust from freshly plowed fields reducing visibility.

Extreme Fire Danger

Over the weekend, the hot, dry and windy weather fueled grass fires in northeast Colorado.
